A great solution for lightweight fluid heads
I keep finding myself liking it more and more each outing. The knobs are intuitive, and the fluid is smooth, the quick release is stellar. All in all it’s a great durable lightweight product. I have it paired with an outdoorsmans large tripod and the combination comes in at about 4 pounds 12 ounces. Which is incredible considering what can be done with it. A great investment.

Excellent video head
I gave this 4 stars because I found the panning knobs to be awkward to adjust quickly when I frame the shot. That may change when I have more time with the head. The quality is amazingly awesome as all of their products I have purchased are.

Another wonderful product from acratech
I bought this mainly to replace a cheaper video head, which worked but not nearly so pleasantly and smoothly for my Kowa spotting scope. I have used it for normal photography as well for which it works quite well. It just makes you feel good when using it, a nice smooth precision instrument. One of the best features is the lever quick release clamp. It just works and I almost never have to adjust it with clamps are not quite swiss acra specification, such as RRS. I also have a GPS head with a lever quick clamp for my lightweight tripod. I love the Acratech heads and quick clamps. One minor point is that the handle needs to be removed from the fluid head to put it into the tripod bag, it does come on and off quickly and easily.

Spectacular
The ballhead part works just like my original Ultimate ball head. Steady, solid and easy. The fluid parts are very fluid. Panning horizontally and vertically is very easy and smooth. It is exactly what I expected from Acratech.
