    Acratech Panoramic Head

Posted by Jason Crane on 11th Nov 2024

Without doubt the best tripod head you will ever buy, it's expensive but worth it will be the last one you ever buy. I've got mine on a iFootage TC7 Fastbowl that has a leveling head in it. Build quality is 10/10, it's so well thought out and it's everything you will ever need in a tripod head

    Fantastic Panoramic Head

Posted by Vincent Ramirez on 7th Nov 2024

The Acratech Panoramic head is a beautifully machined piece of equipment that is equally adept in function. This head allows for precise aim and base rotation. There is absolutely no creeping of any kind once set. It's sturdiness along with a good tripod ensure vibration free long exposures. In addition I feel safe securing my $7,000 camera/lens combo on it. This head along with the Acratech leveling base are now my permanent tripod set up even when shooting portraits in the studio. In my 20 years of shooting it's one of the best purchases I've ever made.

    Perfect head

Posted by Laurent on 29th Jul 2024

This head is perfect for my nightscapes images. At 3 am at 9000 ft in the mountain by freezing temperatures with wind you need such a good tool to ease your Milky way panorama. And it is not heavy.

    Strong, and Reliable

Posted by Anthony Mara on 2nd May 2023

I purchased this some three years ago, and have been using it extensively ever since. It flips seamlessly from forward facing to sideways facing depending on the mount you need in the moment. [Though the nut can get a bit stuck I've found] You do need to have a bowl head with this tripod head, but I use it in my landscape, wild life, and portraiture photography. I know once I lock it down, it's not going to move, a great buy, worth the money.

    Acratech Panorama Head

Posted by James on 23rd Apr 2023

I looked at several heads before I bought this one. The quality is fantastic. It's as easy to use as any ball head but if you're doing panoramas, especially multi-row panos, this head is the absolute best. I also love that the markings are etched into the metal unlike some others that are just painted on. The knobs are a good size and the bubble level is large enough to actually see. When I level using the Acratech Leveling Head which also has a large, easy to see bubble, the two bubbles match up perfectly so once I level the tripod I don't worry about the head base being level. I had always heard that Acratech is quality and it is. I have no hesitation in recommending this head to anybody.

I have two of these now!

Posted by Lauren on 8th Feb 2023

Getting past the elephant in the room, yes, they are expensive, but here is why. For starters, if you get the clamp version, you are getting something that is exclusive when it comes to Arca-Swiss clamps. Go ahead and search the Internet for the same mechanism. You wont find it. It will be something close, but not the same quick release functionality. Then, when you take into consideration the tool-less reposition of the clamp itself, either longitudinal or transverse as well as the build quality and other bits...it adds up to substantiate the cost. Why do I have two? These are lifetime purchases..I can't afford to not have one of these, so I have two. Excellent gear. There is no subsitute for the subtle perfectly executed engineering of these and other AcraTech gear. Am I a fan-girl? Maybe.
